Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
The First Transformers film spanning of the Successful and ‘Legendary’ cartoon series was back in 2007 with Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf – Disturbia, Film) and Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox – Hope & Faith, TV) witness to An ancient struggle that re-erupted on Earth between two extraterrestrial clans, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, Now Bay returns in 2009 with the sequal to that film.
The First outing, Although good – a fantastic opening attached onto an average film, it gave you the feeling that something was missing, most of the action sequences were too ‘close’ and you couldn’t really see anything which was going on with the battles (although few) due to the camera angles and over the top special effects, everything just felt too clichéd.
Does he improve on the second film? Well... Yes.
Our young hero Sam Witwicky has now found the origins to the Transformers and the Decepticons have returned to Earth to take Sam Prisonor, Although now the Autobots have joined an allegiance with the forces of earth and act as a counter to the Decepticons, Back is the Humor which at times I have to say is really funny, Back is the Average script but I’m nhappily going to say It’s a lot better than the first outing.
From Paris with Love
From Paris with Love is directed by the same director that did the fantastic Taken with Liam Neeson back in 2008, Pierre Morel - So when he took the seat for From Paris with Love and also with John Travolta behind the helm then, well - Great.
But this wasn't what i expected? Travolta (The Taking of Pelham 123, Swordfish) is Charlie Wax,an American spy who is looking to stop a terrorist attack in Paris, he becomes stranded at the Airport by Customs and it's down to James Reece - Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Alexander, Vanity Fair) who's an employee to the US Ambassador to free Charlie and become his partner.
The Butterfly Effect
It's always been said that you cannot play God, This is a saying that Evan Trehorn (Kutcher) actually finds out first hand. In his childhood years Evan had severe blackouts at certain and random times, Undergoing treatment for this he is advised to note down his actions per day as a reference for both him and the doctors,Evan cannot remember much prior or obviosly during these blackouts.
One day in the middle of summer he and his friends play a trick on a house in which they place dynamite into a postbox, A harmless prank given that they are only kids, This all goes wrong for them and it leads to other tragic events and changes all of there lives forever.
Now in his College years Evan is now free of the blackout's and so it seems his life is perfect,It's not until he realizes the rest of his childhood mates are not anymore of less better off than he is, Finding out the fact that if he reads his diary supernatrual forces come into effect and he is given the oppurtunity to go back to whatever day he reads upon, Thus he can change the events of that day.
Monsters Vs Aliens
From Dreamworks pictures comes Monsters Vs Aliens. Dreamworks hasn't really had the success of Pixar in the animation department for there films, with lackluster films on there portfolio, such as Antz. They really could do with a film to match the standards of the latter mentioned Pixar.
At first glance it now seems that a film has finally come around, Monsters Vs Aliens Directed by Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Film) is the story of bride to be Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon, Sweet Home Alabama - Film) who's grown via radiation from an asteriod to become gigantic, she's given the tag of Ginormica and whisked away from her normal life by General W.R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland, 24 - TV) and taken to some sort of underground 'Monster Zoo' in which the Government has been keeping secret for years.
Susan, or 'Ginormica' now meets up with fellow specimens in the Facility, they come in the form of Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie, House - TV), a merman creature known as The Missing Link (Will Arnet) and the film and personal favorite, the nonsensical B.O.B (Seth Rogen, Knocked Up - Film) - it's announced that a villainous alien Gallaxhar is busy cloning himself to wage war against Earth and yes, you have guessed it our newly created team have to stop him.
The Haunting in Connecticut
The Haunting in Connecticut is a film released by lionsgate and is based on The true story in which the Campbell family move to upstate Connecticut, renting a house close by to a clinic for there son Matt Campbell (Kyle Gallner - Smallville, TV) who’s suffering from an advanced cancer and undergoing treatment trails.
From the beginning of the film, Matt and His mother Sara Campbell (Virginia Madsen - The Number 23, Film) first move into the house and a sense of eeriness is given to you the viewer about the house, which is an “Amityville” type Victorian home and human like shadows are seen throughout a few scenes, eventually the rest of the family move in and occupy the rest of the house. Matt, who’s bedroom is down in the house basement (Amityville again anyone?) begins to start having visions of people in the house with him, unusually half of the basement is sectioned off and inaccessible through a door but initially through his dreams beyond this door apparently seems to have been converted into a funeral parlor.
Throughout the next hour of the film visions and unexplained events happen which initially the Campbell’s think Matt’s visions are simply due to the cancer trails Matt is undergoing but eventually, find items throughout the house which unlock the disturbing past of the house they now occupy - through research and via Matt they find out the previous owner's clairvoyant son, Jonah served as a demonic messenger, in which he was used to contact the dead but unknowingly to others provided a gateway for spirits to enter the house which left all dead and one missing presumed dead, Jonah - now from the spirit world he is using Matt as his own messenger and to bring to light the dark undertakings which happened in the house.
